Intensive Outpatient Program for Kids & Young Adults
in Irvine, Yorba Linda CA, and Chatham, New Jersey

Stepping Forward Counseling Center (SFCC) offers an exceptional Intensive Outpatient Program for clients residing in Southern California (Irvine, Yorba Linda) and Chatham, New Jersey. SFCC’s Intensive Outpatient Program for afterschool services is designed to help improve the quality of life for children and young adults suffering with acute and non-acute mental illnesses, including crisis prevention.

Through extensive behavioral observations, positive reinforcement and strategic planning, we guide our patients to understand and control their emotions in a group and individual setting. Our diverse variety of activities will teach our clients valuable life skills, such as self-regulation, coping skills,  communication skills, following instructions, use of respectful language and tone of voice, socializing with their peers and much more.

SFCC strives to improve all aspects of our patient’s life. Program activities employ a behavior modification plan and token economy system. Clients earn points based on individual and group treatment goals which they trade in for chosen reinforcers following activities four to five times per day. All of our programs are customized to each patient’s individual needs. In addition to the evidence-based and art therapies, our Intensive Outpatient Afterschool Program includes a holistic healing component.

Although we are based in Southern California and New Jersey, our doors are open nationwide for all those in need of our highly effective mental health services and care. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Stepping Forward Counseling Center today!
